I could not agree more with you. Gover...Dear Mike,

I could not agree more with you. Governments make us think that our society is free and the respect to human rights is at its highest just because we own a house and a car.

I live close to Place de la Republique in Paris and I witnessed how people reacted and stood up those days, it was great but it is a shame that other outrageous events do not cause the same effect...I think that in some degree this is also due to the manipulation that the media excert on the general public.

For example, in my home country (Spain) we had some trouble last summer with Ebola. A nurse, while taking care of an Ebola patient, was infected and, after isolating her, the government decided to sacrifice (without carrying any Ebola-test whatsoever) her dog. The news were on tv, radio, twitter 24/24, interviews with vets and specialised doctors , and so on. You cannot imagine how badly people reacted, demonstrations took place in several cities, petitions were raised to several courts to stop the sacrifice and they even showed on tv how in EEUU they took the dog of one the Ebola patients to a military base where it was isolated but they took great care of it.

We see the injustice on a government having the capacity to decide whether to sacrifice a dog or not, but we do not see it when it comes to human beings, people, like you.

I apologise for my long post and many mistakes you may find since English is not my mother tongue. I just wanted to tell you that I have been reading your blogs (and I will start your book later on today) and that you do not left indifferent your readers, thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience and making me think and reflect, so many teachers would wish to have the same effect on their students or parents on their children. I have signed your petition and passed to my friends.

Thanks again!!!!B_SGnoreply@blogger.com
